This was the Jets most complete game of the season. It was great to see Lowry easily handle Perry and show that this Jets team won't be pushed around.

Yes it was...game of the year so far...

That 4th line is growing on me...speed, size and tenacity...a nice blend.

It certainly provides an interesting scenario when Little comes back...what DO you do???

From the season's beginning to now, what a difference.

Led by the goalie who in the pre-season looked no better than a senior league goalie to making it look almost easy. I have to wonder if Helle is now at that age, with enough pro experience NHL/AHL combined that he is truly arriving in growth with maturity, confidence, training and its all coming together in a consistent package.

I am actually hoping at this point that Buf doesn't come back either and he is done. He will not have skated in almost a year and if he comes back, I hope they trade him immediately. Thanks for the memories Buf, you were great entertainment in Wpg!

I also have think that Pionck is liking Wpg, getting the minutes that he is playing and producing like he is. From what NYR posters were saying about his game to how he plays are two worlds apart. I would take Pionck as an anchor on the PP vs Trouba any day. And, Dustin who?

Poolman I am also going to say something controversial here but I like Bittetos game. It's simple but I like his game.

Other than on the power play, we really don't miss # 33.

Why is he not back ?
I think his were the ruffled feathers at the end of last season.
I think that Maurice had enough of Buff's freelancing, undisciplined play, and laziness.

Lots of comments to agree on all around.

I hated that Laine penalty, it was pure selfish retribution. It was about 30 seconds prior to the Seguin crosscheck on Perreault that Laine had taken a solid crosscheck from Comeau. Laine then took his first chance on the PP to give it back to Comeau and burn the advantage. If that had resulted in a goal it would have given life to a good hockey team. I would have had him parked in the center of the bench after that... Maurice put him back out (after the PK and after Dallas made it 3-1) and Laine scored his goal - maybe Maurice knew that Laine needed to redeem himself and would provide his best effort.

On the whole Laine was very good this game with solid effort around the ice - I just hated the penalty.

I think the Jets should go with a 5 forward unit on the power play. Have Connor, Ehlers, Scheifele and Laine up front with Wheeler quarterbacking it.

With Ehlers, Scehiefle's and Laine's shots the opposition would be forced to spread out their defensive schemes. Laine has shown that he too can do the cross seem pass and I am sure he could hit Ehlers on his off-wing if a shot is not available to him.

You might be right Benny on the ruffled feathers.

We are not missing Buf at the moment and Pionck is learning the pp quarterback pos'n on the fly and looks OK. He has only 129 NHL games under his belt.

Nick Shore baby!!! Fourth line making some moves.....

Its amazing that he has as many goals as Lowry. Looks like "ice tilting" Lowry is going to get some legit competition for his role.

Further to this, it seems that Shore was Chibisov's linemate last year.

With the Senators last year he had a 56% corsi. Looks like Chevy got himself a real "ice tilting" machine. Amazingly he was taken just 15 spots after Lowry.

I loved the Laine penalty. I think our lead at the time was enough that we could afford a 20 second PK. They play the Stars back to back so I truly didn't mind Laine showing them that it's not OK to just cross-check him blatantly. Ref should have called that one too.

Can't wait till the rematch!

A waiver darling for both his passing prowess and positive advanced analytics. Most important quality is he is very defensively aware. That being said he's no sudden magical pickup but rather just some accretive 4th line depth. We all knew Gustafsson was heading back for the WJC so the most disappointed guy is likely Jansen Harkins.

BTW....poor Niku just can't buy luck this season. Car accidents, etc and now an injury just days before he would have been recalled by the Jets. Not a chance Schilling is better than Niku. Lots of tough luck this season.

If you know buff, you'll know that he is going to enjoy himself and his family life until the new year at the earliest. No chance he has recovered 100% from his surgery, and the injury is quite restrictive on cardio/lower body excercise. Best case scenario, he returns in the final 15-20 games of the season and regains some conditioning. He was dynamite in last years playoffs, despite the nagging injury. Worst case, he doesn't return, or returns but can't keep pace. Only time will tell, but don't expect any news before the holidays.

Sucks to be NY. With Shatts being paid 6M next season to not play, while notching 20+ points already for Tampa. Yikes. And Pionk looks every bit as good as Trouba, so no complaints about that trade from me (especially with Ville in the system!)

And this goes out to Rexy. You still think Sbisa is garbage? He is getting better every game, and his size, speed, physicality make him a great bottom pairing D in this league. Fits the Jets need far more than Beaulieu, and is helping replace some of Kuli's minutes.

The interesting thing is, when are Jets fans going to realize that Lowry is the next Trouba?

Lowry plays terribly when he is not playing with Copp, Perreault, Armia or Tanev. I think we should make him part of a package to get a high end center or defenseman.

Just some Ultimate thoughts for a snowy day.......

Ya Trouba was over-hyped, and clearly didn't like Winnipeg. Pionk has looked fantastic, and doesn't take the undisciplined penalties Trouba took on a routine basis. Trouba is good, but his hockey IQ is keeping him from being great. Watching him skate and hit is something I miss, but the kid lacked in many areas. I still can't believe NY inked him, and now pay Shatts (who has 20 points in Tampa) a buyout cap hit of 6M AAV. Trouba and Shatts combine for 14M next season!!! See ya Hayes, Zuccerello, Pionk +1st (ville), and eventually Kreider. Terrible attempt at a rebuild. Enjoy the short seasons Trouba. You won't see playoffs for a couple years.

I think that was the worst officiating we have seen in this Jet's season. Button said we got robbed although it was painfully obvious to anyone watching the game. I think the refs got emotionally involved after the Sheif "you suck" comments and then refused to call anything on Dallas including a few blatant penalties by Cory Perry. I hope the NHL takes a look at this one and gives the refs a bit of a lecture.

On the other hand, while Scheif never swears he definitely is one of the bigger whiners in the league . He needs to dial that down and take a lesson from Wheeler on that.
